Co-dependency

Are you Co-Dependent?

We hear these words a lot these days. What does it really mean? Are you co-dependent?

Check the ones that fit you:

____ I often assume responsibility for your feelings and actions, which in turn affects my serenity. The majority of my mental attention is focused on solving your problems or relieving your pain.
____ Often my mental attention is focused on pleasing you or protecting you.
____ My self esteem is bolstered by solving your problems, and by relieving your pain.
____ I am not aware of how I feel, but I am aware of how you feel. I am not aware of what I want; I ask you what I want.
____ My fear of rejection determines what I say or do.
____ I prefer relationships in which I am needed.
____ Often, I put my values aside in order to connect with you.
____ I tend to judge everything I do and think. Often nothing is “good enough”.
____ I am loyal even when my loyalty is unjustified and or personally harmful.
____ I do not believe that asking for help is okay.
____ I have difficulty acknowledging my good qualities, rather your approval makes me feel good about who I am.
____ I often have difficulty making decision.
